Whether a pregnancy later in life is a surprise, or the result of many rounds of IVF, all these celebrities were delighted to expand their families. Hilary Swank recently announced she was becoming a first-time mom of twins at age 48. Madonna adopted her kids well into her fifties, and gave birth to son Rocco at age 42. Gwen Stefani had two boys in her thirties, and welcomed a third when she was 44. She calls son Appolo her “miracle surprise.” Halle Berry had two kids in her forties: a daughter at age 41 and a son at age 47. Janet Jackson shocked the world when she announced she was pregnant with her son Eissa at age 49. She was 50 when she gave birth. Naomi Campbell also surprised everyone when she welcomed her daughter at age 50. Nicole Kidman struggled for years to conceive naturally, even adopting two kids with ex-husband Tom Cruise. Years later, she welcomed two daughter at ages 41 and 44. Meryl Streep welcomed her youngest child at 42, Rachel Weizs was 48, Naomi Watts was 40, and Susan Sarandon was 45. After years of IVF treatments, Celine Dion had twin boys at age 42. Mariah Carey also had fertility issues, and gave birth to her twins with Nick Cannon when she was 40. Salma Hayek was 41 when she started her family, and Eva Mendes was 40. Two years later, she had another baby with Ryan Gosling at age 42.
