Britney Spears has not had an easy life. Even though the pop star is only in her thirties, she’s faced a lot of hardships, some that began even before her infamous 2007 breakdown. In her public breakdown, the young star shaved her head and attacked paparazzi photographers with an umbrella, all of which was captured for the media and made public. Her partying and run-ins with the law landed her in a horrible custody battle with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, over the guardianship of their two sons.
As a result, she lost custody of her sons and Britney was placed under a temporary conservatorship which gave her father complete legal guardianship of her assets, career, estate, and life! The agreement, which was to protect the star, is still in place twelve years later. Even though Britney’s career has blossomed and flourished in recent years, she still has no control over her life or any decisions regarding her music and career.
Now, the #FreeBritney movement is calling for the star’s restrictions to be lifted, giving her more freedom to live her life! Britney Spears has a swell of devoted fans who are concerned for the star and worry that she being controlled and manipulated, even on her own social media. Recently, her father has become ill and her brother has defended their father’s decisions regarding Britney’s legal issues. The 2007 incident changed Britney’s life forever. Now she must fight in court to regain her freedom and control.
