It’s been over a week since Tekashi 6ix9ine, was arrested on RICO charges in a joint effort by ATF, NYPD and Homeland Security. The rapper was denied bail and was placed in gen. pop at Brooklyn’s MDC, but was later transferred to a new facility after the rapper was allegedly threatened by fellow inmates. The new facility was described by TMZ, who broke the story, as “a federal facility that is regularly used to house witnesses who cooperate with the feds.” However, his legal team is attempting to put the allegations that he snitched on his co-defendants to rest.
Some media outlets have suggested Tekashi was moved to a new facility because he is snitching on his crew in order to gain favor in his case, but the rapper’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, says his client is “Not giving states evidence.” Lazzaro assured us that the move was only “due to threats.”
Tekashi appeared in court Monday morning and entered a not guilty plea for the 6 felony counts against him, including racketeering. He was once again denied bail and given a trial date of September 4, 2019.
We’re told Tekashi’s attorney plans on filing for bail directly with the trial judge this week to try and spring his client out of custody long before his scheduled trial date.
As we reported Tekashi is facing life in prison for his alleged involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, but the hip-hop star is claiming that he is not an actual gang member.
