Arsonal sits down with Rude Reid of HipHopIsReal after Arsonal & Friends and reveals what happened when he recently linked up with Tsu Surf after Surf came home.
Arsonal says he went to see Tsu Surf two weeks ago, and the two sat down on the curb “like old times,” having a real one-on-one conversation and catching up. When asked if Surf is ready to return to battle rap, Arsonal makes it clear that Surf is focused on enjoying his freedom, spending time with his family and daughter, and planning his next move — not rushing back into battle rap just because fans want him to.
The conversation also gets deeper as Arsonal speaks on the current state of battle rap, saying the culture is in a bad space and that fans don’t always appreciate the battlers or understand the business side of the culture. He also speaks on the shift from free YouTube battles to paid content, and why things feel different right now.
Arsonal also talks about his Arsonal & Friends event, the artists who came through, the love he’s been building in Boston, his recent battle rap momentum, and his new music. He speaks on his upcoming album **For Your Grammy Consideration**, dropping July 17th, and says the project is real, raw, authentic, and something he just wants people to press play on and experience.
