Swamp claims he won 2–1 at Summer Madness XVI—J2 answers back.
J2 also responds directly to Rosenberg Raw’s criticism as the URLTV app release reignites the debate.
Speaking with Knowledge Tha God on HipHopIsReal, J2 challenges Swamp’s comments from his 15 Minutes of Fame interview, disputes his account of the “3-0” chants, and defends his performance against the criticism following the battle’s release.
J2 maintains that he clearly took the first and third rounds while acknowledging the battle looks closer on camera. He explains that he would edge Swamp the second if he disregards what he considers a choke.
The conversation gets heated as J2 addresses Rosenberg Raw’s commentary and explains why he believes some criticism of his material reflects a double standard. Those are J2’s views; Knowledge questions him about the distinction between battle criticism and bias.
Also discussed:
• Crowd reaction versus the camera replay.
• The disputed second-round choke or stumble.
• J2’s writing and explanations of his bars.
• Why he passed on a proposed small-room Tay Roc battle.
