Reggie Wright Jr. (Day 2 / Witness 12) firmly denied any involvement or conspiracy in the murder of Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas, responding “Absolutely not” when asked if he played a role in orchestrating or executing the shooting. He addressed claims made by Davis in jailhouse interviews accusing Wright of setting him up or orchestrating the murder. Wright labeled Davis a liar and stated that Davis was deflecting because his own defense was failing.
Wright detailed growing up in Compton near Suge Knight in Mob Piru territory. He recalled knowing of Keefe D during his time as a Compton police officer, characterizing him back then first as a local crackhead and later as a drug dealer. Wright testified that he was at Club 662 in Las Vegas waiting for the arrival of Knight and Shakur on September 7, 1996. He stated he learned about the fight at the MGM Grand involving Orlando Anderson and knew immediately that violence would spill over into Compton between Mob Pirus and Southside Compton Crips.
Defense attorney Michael Sanft questioned Wright regarding his YouTube commentary channel, his security practices, and why Tupac was traveling with minimal security personnel on the night of the shooting. Wright clarified that Shakur often preferred to roll with a small crew and defended his record as a former officer and security director.
