A dog was rescued after falling through thin ice in freezing temperatures in St. Louis, in a dramatic operation by the city’s Marine Rescue Task Force.
Firefighters navigated hazardous icy conditions to reach the trapped animal just in time, carefully pulling it from the frigid water. Officials reported that the dog is doing well and expected to make a full recovery.
Video released by the St. Louis Fire Department shows the tense moments of the rescue and the dog being brought safely to shore.
