A family was amazed when they discovered an egg hidden inside another bigger egg.
Footage shows Donna cracking open the brown egg – only for a smaller egg to fall onto the plate.
The baffled family laughed and decided to cook both eggs for dinner.
An egg within an egg is a rare phenomenon caused by a rare biological event called counter-peristalsis contraction. When this happens, a fully formed egg moves back into the hen’s oviduct and becomes embedded in a newly forming egg.
