Musk called the claims “absolute rubbish” and described ongoing family disputes often motivated by financial demands. Addressing reports of Jana’s substance abuse problems and legal troubles, Musk said the stories of theft were false but admitted she fell into substance abuse after her brother’s death. In a surprising revelation, he said he once accompanied her to buy heroin in Cape Town to manage her addiction, explaining his efforts to reduce her consumption. Eventually, Jana was placed in a rehabilitation center where she completed her education and recovered.
