Making A REAL Spider Door Knob

Ive been preserving flowers in resin for years, but when a friend gave me a deceased wolf spider, I decided to try something differentencasing it in a resin sphere and turning it into a functional doorknob.

I carefully posed and pinned the Wolf spider (and have now named him Taylor Lautner) and let it dry for four weeks, then embedded it in resin across multiple pours (which is a 3-day process).

After sanding the sphere clear by hand, I spent 8 hours using a Dremel to remove the original crystal knob hardware and fit the spider sphere in its place. Taking over 6 weeks for the entire process, it is extremely tedious, but turned out amazing and I’m currently making more!
