Hollywood has a tendency of making the lives of some of our favorite celebrities something to be envious of. When we see them in their multi million dollar homes and on the cover of reputable magazines and see their net worth, it’s hard to not want to be in their shoes. But that’s the beauty of Hollywood. It’s made to be glamorous and for most of the people we see there, money isn’t really an issue. But that doesn’t mean it didn’t used to be. It’s so easy to see the lives of celebrities and think to ourselves how lucky they must be to get to live the lives that they have. But for a lot of them, starting from the bottom is just an understatement.
As it turns out, a lot of celebrities have had lives that some of us can relate to more than we think. Think Kelly Clarkson showed up for American Idol one day and randomly became a pop icon? Guess again. And before stars like Scarlett Johansson, Cardi B and Tiffany Haddish became household names, they were struggling like a lot of other people, hustling to make ends meet in an ever demanding and increasingly expensive society.
A lot of our favorite celebs got to where they are now because they refused to give up on their dreams and they surely wouldn’t let society tell them what they could and couldn’t do with their lives. We can learn so much from the perseverance of the very people we envy sometimes and there’s more strength in that than we think.
